Two people were wounded by gunfire early Sunday outside a downtown Montreal bar, police say.
The men, 26 and 38, were struck in the lower body, Montreal police spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils said. Several 911 calls alerted police to the incident around 1:45 a.m., she said.
“According to preliminary information, there may have been a fight involving several people in front of the licensed establishment,” she said. Suspects fled on foot before police arrived.
Both men were conscious when police reached the scene, Chèvrefils said, and were transported to a hospital. Their lives are not considered to be in danger.
Police said they have set up a security perimeter and that an investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.
