Free Earth Day party in Surrey features 4 stages Saturday

Admission is free at Surrey Civic Plaza for B.C.’s largest Earth Day celebration this Saturday, April 25.

Surrey’s 15th Party for the Planet festival features live music and dance, a popular plant sale, Sustainable Marketplace, food trucks, rock climbing wall, a “blender bike” for making smoothies, exhibitors of all kinds and other attractions, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the plaza outside Surrey City Hall (13450 104 Ave.).

The plant sale has native shrubs, trees, perennials and ferns priced from $3 to $6, debit and credit only.

Tomato plants (750 of them) will be given to Party-goers after a welcome speech by Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke at 2 p.m. — first-come, first-serve basis, limit one per person.

Four stages of entertainment offer something for everyone including West Coast Circus, Science World demo, Higher Ground Dance Battle, Rocky Step Lindy Hoppers, Ginalina Music, Don Alder, Haleluya Hailu, Matt Storm, Ranj Singh, Morning Glories, Ahshï, Urban Safari Rescue Society exotic animals and more.

Earth Day 2026 is on Wednesday, April 22. The global event focuses on environmental protection and climate action, with the 2026 theme of “Our Power, Our Planet.”
