Police in Peterborough have laid several charges against a truck driver from Brampton after a tractor-trailer unit got stuck in the front yard of a home.
The single-vehicle crash happened on Thursday in the area of North Monaghan Parkway and Whittington Drive, the Peterborough Police Service says.
A photo from the scene shows the transport truck blocking a residential road, with the tractor-trailer stopped on a grassy area.
And after the vehicle was removed, an investigation found “several” defects with the vehicle’s braking system, police say.
The 45-year-old driver from Brampton was charged with multiple offences, including careless driving, disobeying a sign, improper braking system – commercial motor vehicle, and failing to enter a defect in the daily inspection report.
Police say the vehicle’s plates have been removed and seized.
