We already have news from former Montreal Canadiens defenseman David Savard.
Savard, who announced his retirement from the NHL at the end of last season, recently admitted that he already misses it.
A return to the Montreal Canadiens for David Savard?
There are already rumors circulating to that effect, and personally, I’m convinced he’ll be back with the organization.
I’m convinced he’ll follow in Paul Byron’s footsteps and return to the Montreal Canadiens organization in some role.
Also, don’t be surprised if you see him at the Canadiens’ next training camp.
David Savard today on his NHL retirement:
“I miss it already. I know I’ll miss it next season.. I’ll miss going to the arena and practicing with the guys everyday but you have to realize when your time is up.”
I’m really looking forward to seeing what’s next for Savard, but I truly believe he’ll return to work within the Montreal Canadiens organization, just like Paul Byron did.
David can be extremely proud of his NHL career. Savard, 34, recorded 15 points in 75 games last season, with 36 penalty minutes and a -8 rating.
In his NHL career, Savard has 242 points in 870 games (including 54 goals) with 467 penalty minutes.
