Heads up if you’re a cyclist in New Brunswick! You’ll want to mark May 23 on your calendar.
The Velo NB AGM and Awards Presentation is taking place from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Loft 331, 311 Elmwood Drive in Moncton, NB.
Velo NB’s Annual General meeting
If you’re a member, this is your chance to have a say in where cycling in New Brunswick is headed.
The morning will bring riders together to connect, catch up, and recognize some of the standout performances from the past year. But there is more than just chitchatting about the year that 2025 was. There will also be plenty of discussion key updates. Stuff includes thngs like the budget and board direction. And since cyclists are always hungry, lunch and coffee will be provided.
The focus for the 2026 AGM
According to the organizer, a big part of this year’s meeting will focus on governance. Members will review and vote on an updated Constitution.
There will also be a proposed shift to a new Board structure.
Velo NB says the change moves away from the older discipline-based executive model toward a more streamlined approach. Basically, it is aimed at easing the workload on volunteers while still thinking about long-term growth.
A one-page summary of the proposed changes is available ahead of the meeting. If you’re planning on going, take a scan beforehand so you’re familiar with some of the items of discussion. Check it out at VeloNB.ca
Velo NB said that in 2025 there was a strong turnout and plenty of energy in the room. The hope is that it can be the same, or even better for 2026. You can also learn more on the Velo NB Facebook page, as well.
