An unidentified man is sought for an apparently unprovoked assault on a female youth on board a bus in Markham on Monday.

And investigators have released images of a suspect, hoping someone recognizes him and comes forward.

York Regional Police say the assault allegedly occurred near Yonge St. and Royal Orchard Blvd., south of Hwy. 407, around 7:20 a.m.

“(A man) approached a female youth on a York Region Transit bus and assaulted her,” police alleged in a statement released Wednesday.

Police said the girl was “not physically injured.”

The suspect is described as about 30 years old, 5-foot-8, with a tan complexion. He was seen wearing dark clothing and carrying a Walmart bag.

One young man and three teen boys face charges after a loaded handgun was allegedly seized during a traffic stop in Mississauga.

Details of the arrests were only revealed this week, but Peel Regional Police say the charges stem from officers investigating a vehicle in the area of Mid-Way Blvd. and Dixie Rd. – north of Courtneypark Dr. E. – around 7 p.m. on March 6.

“During the investigation, officers observed the occupants to be in violations of the Cannabis Control Act and Controlled Drug and Substance Act,” police alleged in a statement released Tuesday. “During the search of one of the accused, a loaded illegal handgun and a magazine containing ammunition were located.”

As a result, the four occupants of the vehicle were arrested.

Iheem Mitchell, 19, of Brampton, and three 16-year-old Toronto boys are each charged with possession of schedule I substance; possession of an unauthorized firearm; possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition; knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm; occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm; and careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition.

One of the 16-year-olds is also charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

And another of the 16-year-old boys faces two counts of failure to comply (with a court order).
