Clash in Paris is Aug. 31, and as of this writing WWE doesn’t have another premium live event on their calendar until Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia on Oct. 11.
AEW does have a September PPV event planned for Saturday the 20th, though. WWE’s stepped up their counter-programming of AEW’s biggest shows this year; their last two PPV cards — May’s Double or Nothing and last month’s All In Texas — went against NXT PLEs, and the July date also included a main roster Saturday Night’s Main Event on NBC. This year’s All Out won’t go uncontested either, at least not according to Post Wrestling’s reporting.
John Pollock & Brandon Thurston of Post write that they “spoke with multiple sources with knowledge of the WWE event schedule, who confirmed that a yet-to-be-announced PLE will take place on Sat., Sept. 20, in Indianapolis, Indiana.” They also contacted WWE for official confirmation, but have not received a response.
Post does present some context that backs up their report, as well:
Again, no official word from WWE as of yet. But soon enough we should know more… one way or the other.
