As the Ottawa Senators aim to rally from a 0-2 deficit, they will receive a boost to their blue line.
Head coach Travis Green subsequently confirmed Kleven would be back in the lineup and partnered with Cameron Crotty on the third pairing.
Kleven, 24, has not played since an April 2 regular-season game against the Buffalo Sabres when he took a puck to the face.
In 70 games in 2025-26, Kleven posted three goals and 15 assists.
Crotty, meanwhile, will be making his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut after appearing in six regular-season games for the Senators this season and recording one assist.
The 26-year-old Ottawa native has just eight career NHL games under his belt, with his other two split between the Arizona Coyotes (2023-24) and the Minnesota Wild (2024-25).
In this first-round series between Carolina and Ottawa, the Hurricanes won 3-2 in overtime in Game 2 and 2-0 in Game 1.
