It is not anticipated that charges will be laid in the collision, which occurred on Godfrey Drive around 5 p.m. Thursday

A youth riding an electric scooter was flown to Toronto for treatment for injuries received in a collision with a pickup truck in Copper Cliff on April 23.

Greater Sudbury Police report that just before 5 p.m., officers were dispatched to a serious collision involving an electric scooter at the intersection of Godfrey Drive and Park Street in Copper Cliff.

Based on the investigation, it has been determined that a pick-up truck was travelling southbound on Godfrey Drive when the youth riding the scooter entered the roadway from Park Street.

The youth sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services. The youth was flown to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre by Ornge air ambulance.

The integrated Traffic Safety Unit (ITSU) is investigating the collision, but it is not anticipated that charges will be laid.
