An 80-year-old woman who died in a south Winnipeg apartment earlier this week has been identified as Gladys Bellamy.

Officers were sent to the complex on St. Anne’s Road, near the Perimeter Highway, shortly before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and found the woman with fatal injuries, police said in a news release.

Police didn’t specify the nature of the injuries but said she was the victim of a homicide.

Jose Raulino, 74, was arrested at the scene and charged with second-degree murder.

Police say Bellamy and Raulino knew each other.
