Following heavy winds that caused several road closures Thursday, Calgary Fire crews have responded to multiple wind-related incidents on Friday. Calgary Fire has attended over 225 emergency calls over the past 24 hours, including numerous wind-related calls. Calls include property damage and downed power lines related to fallen trees. No injuries have been reported yet.

Calgary Fire responds to severe weather events every year. Calgary Fire’s operations and technical teams are prepared and will continue responding to any life hazard incidents.

Residents can also call Enmax at 403-514-6100 to report a tree on a power line that does not present an imminent danger.

Calgarians are advised to exercise caution with any outdoor activities and continue to report any emergency events to 911.
