A man is dead in what Vancouver police say is the city’s third homicide of 2026.
In a news release, police said the victim was stabbed near East Hastings Street and Dunlevy Avenue early Thursday morning.
A witness called 911 shortly after 12:30 a.m., and paramedics rushed the man to hospital where he later died, according to police.
Investigators have identified the victim as 36-year-old Matthew MacFarlane.
