A pedestrian has suffered life-altering injuries after a collision with a Calgary CTrain at a crossing in southeast Shawnessy, police say.
The city reported it at around 11 a.m., with police confirming it happened on 162 Avenue near the CTrain crossing by Shawville Rise SE.
Officers say emergency crews extricated the pedestrian, who was trapped, conscious and breathing under the train. They have been taken to hospital with life-altering injuries, but is in stable condition.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes were closed while officers investigated, but they have since reopened.
While Calgary Transit said there was no train service between Fish Creek and Somerset following the incident, service is now back on track.
