A 23-year-old man is facing several firearm-related charges after police say he fired a gun in Winnipeg’s North End area on Saturday.
Officers responded to Main Street and Euclid Avenue just before 4:30 p.m. on Saturday after receiving reports that a man had a firearm, Winnipeg police said in a Sunday news release.
Police said the man was found in a yard on Austin Street, between Jarvis and Selkirk avenues, with a loaded sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun concealed on his body.

The weapon was seized as evidence, police said.
Before the man was arrested, police said he had been walking in the area with a group of people and pulled out the gun, firing two shots in the air.
A 23-year-old man has been charged with:
Charging a firearm in a reckless manner.
Careless use of a firearm, ammunition, prohibited weapon or device.
Carrying a concealed weapon, prohibited device or ammunition.
Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized.
Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm;.
Possession of a firearm, restricted/prohibited weapon, firearm part or ammunition contrary to prohibition order.
Failure to comply with condition of release order.
He was detained in custody, police said.
