Support palliative care in the community by taking part in the annual fundraising walk through Bell Park
Registration is now open for the 2026 Hike for Hospice.
The annual fundraiser to support palliative care in Greater Sudbury not only raises funds for Maison McCulloch Hospice, it raises awareness of the need for more government funding for palliative care. The event also provides a venue for families and loved ones who have been impacted by the services provided at the hospice to come together, remember their loved ones and celebrate life.
This year’s fundraising goal is $120,000.
“The Hike for Hospice is a powerful way for our community to come together in support of Maison McCulloch Hospice and to raise awareness of palliative care,” said Ashley Bertrand, director of the Sudbury Hospice Foundation, in a news release. “Proceeds from the event directly support high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care for individuals and families at no cost, while also providing an opportunity to honor and celebrate the lives of loved ones.
“Every step and every contribution helps ensure comfort, dignity, and support are available when needed, and we encourage everyone to join us in making a difference.”
This year’s Hike for Hospice will take place May 3 in Bell Park, starting from the Grace Hartman Amphitheatre. Registration begins at 1 p.m., with participants choosing between a two-kilometre or five-kilometre route.
“Participants can register online and begin fundraising today,” the hospice said. “Individuals and teams are encouraged to create personalized fundraising pages, engage their networks, and help build momentum for this impactful event. Whether walking, running, or cheering from the sidelines, every contribution matters.”
