A teen has been reported dead after a single-vehicle collision near Toronto.

A report released today by York Regional Police has stated that the incident took place in the Town of East Gwillimbury around midnight this past Sunday, April 26.

Police have stated that the collision occurred near the intersection of Doane Road and Leslie Street, while the vehicle in question went down an embankment and entered an area with a pond.

Five teenagers were in the vehicle at the time of the collision, with police stating that one did not survive and was pronounced dead on the scene, while the other four were rushed to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The names of the victims have not been released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The investigation remains ongoing, with police urging anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
