Surrey council approves three high-rise projects

Surrey city council approved three high-rise projects on April 27 for which there was no public hearing because they are deemed consistent with the Official Community Plan and also include a residential component.
First up, council approved bylaw variance permits to allow Fast Solterra Development (Guildford) Corp. to construct a 20-storey apartment building with 175 dwellings at 15202 Guildford Drive.
Council also approved at third reading the development of two 20-storey mixed-use towers at 1797 – 152 St. and 15150 – 18 Avenue as well as a mixed-use 12-storey building at 1711 and 1767 – 152 Street, from 1601 to 1715 – 152 Street, 15105 and 15177 – 16 Avenue, and 1776 Martin Drive in South Surrey.
An application to build a five-storey residential building at 14318 – 60 Avenue to contain 112 dwellings and three levels of underground parking was also approved at third reading.
