A two-alarm fire at a large nightclub on the city’s waterfront early Tuesday morning is now being investigated as a potential arson, officials say.

Toronto Fire Service (TFS) said it received reports of a fire at Rebel, a 45,000-square-foot club on Polson Pier, around 5 a.m.

Crews found heavy fire and smoke, but the fire was limited to the exterior of the building, TFS said. Crews have been inside to examine any potential damage, they said.

No injuries were reported.

Around 10:45 a.m., Toronto police said on X that officers and fire crews remained on the scene, and the fire is now being investigated as a potential arson.
