Winnipeg designer Lennard Taylor hand paints images onto a white top at The Forks Market plaza on Earth Day – April 22. The theme of Earth Day celebrations events at Winnipeg’s traditional meeting place was Repair Together, focused on the idea that reusing, recycling and repurposing clothing and textiles helps keep them out of landfills and makes for exciting fashion. Activities and events included a Fixing Fashion market and fashion show (which included some of Taylor’s repurposed designs), a patching workshop, bicycle repairs at the W.R.E.N.C.H. and a recycling drop-off zone hosted by Mother Earth recycling.
