Dan Henderson, former MMA fighter, opens Hendo’s Barrel House in Temecula, featuring a distillery, brewery, and steakhouse.
TEMECULA, Calif. — Dan Henderson, a former Olympic wrestler and renowned mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, has opened a new restaurant called Hendo’s Barrel House in Temecula, California. The establishment, which combines a distillery, brewery, and steakhouse, marks Henderson’s entry into the food and beverage industry.

“Temecula is known for hot air balloons and wine country, but there’s a new restaurant that is fighting for your business,” said CBS 8’s Jeff Zevely, who visited the new venue.
Henderson, nicknamed “Hendo,” is a decorated athlete with multiple world titles in MMA. His new venture showcases his transition from the fighting ring to the restaurant business.
“After dedicating so much of my life to competition, it feels incredible to step into this next chapter where I can build something that brings people together,” said Henderson. “Hendo’s is more than just a business – it’s a reflection of my journey, my values, and my commitment to community, health, and hard work. I’m excited to create a space where people can train, recover, eat great food, and connect with one another – just like I’ve always loved to do.”Â

The restaurant’s interior features Henderson’s championship belts on display, serving as a reminder of his illustrious fighting career. Henderson is particularly famous for delivering one of the most devastating knockouts in MMA history.
“Nobody liked him and very well, he had a big mouth and they were happy to see me shut it,” Henderson said, referring to the opponent he knocked out in that memorable fight.

Hendo’s Barrel House offers a variety of food and drink options. “We’ve got a Wagyu ribeye right here,” said Henderson, showcasing one of the restaurant’s signature dishes. Other menu items include steakhouse nachos and a short rib grilled cheese sandwich with sweet potato fries.
Adjacent to the restaurant is Henderson’s gym, allowing patrons to work out after their meal.Â
The former fighter now focuses on ensuring customer satisfaction. “As long as the food is good, the service is good and the drinks are good I’m happy,” Henderson said.
