Sitting down for an interview on The Megyn Kelly Show, the British comedian admitted he “didn’t handle that marriage very well.”

“It was my fault,” he said as he contemplated why his 2010-2012 marriage to the pop star didn’t work “I pushed to get married early because I felt inadequate and insecure, and that I wasn’t enough, and that if I was married to her, I’d somehow be a better person and more important.”

But when Kelly asked Brand, 50, to share his thoughts on Perry’s relationship with the former Canadian prime minister, the Get Him To The Greek star lambasted his ex.

“I’ve put up with a lot with that ex-wife of mine, but you took it too far, KP,” Brand said. “Legolas! I love that guy! Brilliant!” he added, noting his affection for Perry’s ex Orlando Bloom.

Jokingly referring to Trudeau as “Fidel Castro’s spawn,” Brand hit out at his authoritarian leadership qualities while in office. “I do not like that Trudeau,” he declared. “There we draw the line!”

Brand hated Trudeau’s response to Freedom Convoy

Brand told Kelly that his main issue with Trudeau came from the fact that the past Liberal Leader targeted the Freedom Convoy in early 2022.

“I didn’t like it that he was having a go at them truckers,” he said.

It wasn’t the first time Brand had spoken out against Trudeau’s handling of the protest, which saw truck drivers descending on Ottawa to demonstrate against Canada’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

In a 14-minute YouTube video called “Truckers Convoy: Why The Mainstream Media Blackout?!” published in 2022, Brand questioned how truckers who would not take the vaccine became “loathed” for not submitting “to the wills of the powerful.”

He also lashed out at Trudeau’s criticism of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

“You can criticize Russia for many, many reasons, you can condemn the actions of Russia, quite rightly, for many reasons. What you can’t do is claim to be an exemplar of democracy if whenever you get the opportunity to be tyrannical, you take it,” he said.

Speaking to Kelly, Brand chided Trudeau for his “blackface” controversy and called ex-politician “ultra woke.” He went on to chide Trudeau for inviting “an actual Nazi” to visit Canadian Parliament and blasted the onetime drama teacher for calling the marchers “Nazis.”

“That was ridiculous,” Kelly replied.

“They were just being sort of bold and brave,” Brand said.

“I specifically don’t like what is typified by those good-looking politicians — Obama, Macron, Blair — they’re sort of good-looking and they’re charming,” Brand went on to say. “But you think… who do you work for, really? Who’s running this? Because it can’t be you. I don’t like that pose of compassion that’s absolutely (guided by) selfishness.”

Comic predicts Perry will ‘come to her senses’

As their chat continued, Brand asked if Perry was still going out with Trudeau. When Kelly replied that they are still an item, Brand quipped: “Keep checking. She could come to her senses any minute.”

Brand, who recently revealed he had a sex with a 16-year-old girl when he was 30, went on to joke about Perry’s relationship by likening it to his upcoming rape trial. Brand has pleaded not guilty after multiple women accused him of rape and sexual assault.

“Look at the category I’m in now. I’m in with Trudeau,” he said. “It’ll be a relief to be in a rape trial.”

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star also briefly touched on Ruby Rose’s allegation that Perry assaulted her 2010.

In a viral Threads post earlier this month, Rose claimed that Perry, now 41, “saw me ‘resting’ on my best friend’s lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.”

A representative for Perry has shot down the Australian model and actress’ accusations saying: “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies.”

“I read about that,” Brand said. “This is probably the old-school man in me. I don’t even hear the crime there. ‘What happened?’ I can’t even hear what it is. Someone would have to poke me with a stick, ‘There’s the crime.’”
