The “Late Night” host stressed that Trump has no shame in rolling out his “made-up numbers” before turning to a clip where Trump displayed a “pretty amazing” chart at an economic press conference in the Oval Office last week.
“All new numbers,” Trump said after several seconds of silence with the chart in his hands. “OK?”
“Wait a second, I’m sorry, what the fuck are you talking about?” said Meyers, who argued that Trump had no clue what the chart was about as he “couldn’t even muster a single word to explain it.”
Meyers later summed up Trump’s latest press conference with a clip of the president declaring a “public safety emergency” in the nation’s capital. (In reality, data shows violent crime rates are dropping.)
“This is an emergency, this is a tragic emergency, and it’s embarrassing for me to be up here,” Trump said Monday from the lectern of the White House press briefing room.
On air, Meyers swiftly agreed, “Yeah, yeah it is, but in a way, it’s embarrassing for all of us.”
The host then pulled out a chart showing an increase in “embarrassment” for “us” over the Trump presser.

“OK?” quipped Meyers, imitating Trump before putting the chart back down.
