The city is bringing free roller skating pop-up rentals to Brampton for National Youth Week.
The event will be the first event of the season for the Skatevanrun by Suso Skate Co., the same company that temporarily turned the old Sears store in Bramalea City Centre into a 30,000-square-foot roller rink decorated with disco balls.
“Skatevan brings the roller skate experiences to events of all kinds,” Suso says of their mobile roller skating pop-up that “brings skating directly to communities through mobile experiences.”
The event will run on May 7 at the Gore Meadows Community Centre and Library between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. as part of Brampton’s National Youth Week celebrations, and Suso says the event promises “no gatekeeping, no pressure – just an open invitation to try something different.”
Free rentals will include skates, protective gear, setup and help from staff. Rentals will be first-come first-served, with a waiver signature required from guests.
