Immigration Minister Lena Metlege Diab says she ‘did not know about the decision’ to grant a temporary residence permit to the head of Iranian soccer, Mehdi Taj, who has ties to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. Taj was denied entry to Canada for the annual FIFA Congress in Vancouver earlier this week. Questioned at committee by Conservative MP Dane Lloyd, Diab says the soccer official’s permit was annulled by the time he landed in Canada.
