Dyson Daniels and the Atlanta Hawks have endured an NBA nightmare, with the Australian ejected as his side trailed by a staggering 47 points — an all-time playoffs record — against the New York Knicks.

The Atlanta Hawks have been eliminated from the NBA playoffs after a heavy 140-89 defeat to the New York Knicks, with New York advancing to the Eastern semi-finals 4-2.
It was effectively over by half-time, with the Knicks setting a new NBA playoff record margin at one stage and building a 47-point lead in a night the Hawks will be keen to move past as they head into an early off-season. While Atlanta showed more fight after the break, the damage was already done.
Frustrations boiled over early as the game slipped away. With 4:39 left in the second quarter, the Hawks were already down by 50 in what quickly became one of the most one-sided playoff performances in recent memory.
Tensions then spilled over during a free-throw sequence, when Dyson Daniels and Mitchell Robinson became entangled. Daniels appeared to catch Robinson with an elbow, prompting an immediate response from the Knicks big man as players and officials rushed in. Both were ejected following the incident.

Calling the moment live, Mike Breen captured the chaos as it unfolded.
“Oh, and Robinson and Dyson just being held up… Brett Barneke gets knocked down! Robinson wants to go after somebody,” he said.
“They’re trying to separate the two. Robinson really upset. The frustrations coming through for the Hawks right now.”
After a review, both players were assessed offsetting technical fouls and ejected from the game.
