An Ottawa police officer has been arrested twice and charged with assault and criminal harassment, as well as careless use and storage of a firearm.
Kingston Police said Thursday that it was asked in March by the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) to investigate an Ottawa officer who had been arrested and charged with one count each of assault and criminal harassment.
As a result of the Kingston Police investigation, the Ottawa officer was arrested again earlier this week, on April 27.
The officer was further charged with one count each of careless storage and careless use of a firearm, and has been released with conditions on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
All the charges stem from off-duty incidents, Kingston Police said.
