A clean-up is underway after a tractor-trailer caught fire on Highway 401. Emergency crews were called to the scene at 4 a.m.
A part of Highway 401 in Scarborough that was shut down throughout Saturday morning due to a crash has reopened.
The crash, involving a transport truck, was initially reported just before 4:30 a.m.
In a post to social media, Ontario Provincial Police revealed westbound express lanes were closed at Morningside Avenue, while the collector lanes were shut down at McCowan Road.
Eastbound express lanes were also blocked at Brimley Road while crews worked to extinguish the fire, though crews confirmed shortly after 5 a.m. that all lanes had reopened.
Meanwhile, westbound express lanes from Morningside Avenue were closed until just before 4 p.m., when they finally reopened.
