Coming off his 1st career NASCAR Cup Series win, Carson Hocevar takes the pole for Sunday’s Würth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway
Carson Hocevar broke through last weekend at Talladega for his first career NASCAR Cup Series win and remained hot, roaring to a 191.240 mph lap to take the pole position for Sunday’s Würth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas. Hocevar’s second career pole position comes at the same track as his first last year. Meanwhile, Kyle Busch grabbed the sixth spot on the grid ahead of his first race with new crew chief Andy Street, his best qualifying spot since winning the pole for the Daytona 500 to open the season.

Hocevar edged Spire Motorsports teammate Daniel Suárez by 0.003 seconds for the first spot on the grid, with Chris Buescher and Denny Hamlin set to start the race on Row 2. Chase Briscoe joins Busch on the third row, Christopher Bell and points leader Tyler Reddick open on Row 4 and Alex Bowman and Ty Gibbs round out the top 10 starters.
The race covers 267 laps around Texas Motor Speedway’s 1.5-mile oval, with Stage 1 set for 80 laps, Stage 2 running 85 laps and a final stage of 102 laps for the finish. Joey Logano won at Texas last year while Jimmie Johnson holds the all-time mark at the race with five victories.
Reddick remains the only driver with multiple wins in 2026, coming in with five in 10 starts to open a 110-point lead in the standings over Hamlin, with Ryan Blaney sitting 140 points behind. Chase Elliott holds fourth with a 144-point deficit and Gibbs rounds out the top five at 162 points back. Defending NASCAR Cup champion Kyle Larson is sixth in the standings and starts 11th on the grid on Sunday.
