Two warehouse fires broke out in the GTA early Sunday morning and police believe both incidents are connected.
Emergency crews were first called shortly before 1 a.m. to a commercial building near South Sheridan Way and Winston Churchill Boulevard in Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police say the building was already engulfed in flames when crews arrived at the scene. No injuries were reported.
Investigators are reportedly treating the Mississauga fire as suspicious while working alongside fire officials to determine the cause.
Roughly 30 minutes later, emergency crews were dispatched to another warehouse fire near Steeles Avenue West and Norfinch Drive in North York.
It’s reported that the warehouse was heavily involved in flames when first responders arrived. No injuries were reported in that incident either.
Investigators in Toronto said the cause of the blaze has not yet been determined, but police are aware of the Mississauga fire and are examining whether the two incidents may be linked.
More information to follow as it becomes available.
