As Pierre said, Tampa Bay outshot Montreal in the first period.

The Lightning had a few solid scoring chances to open the scoring. Credit Jakub Dobes for standing tall for the Canadiens.

Nikita Kucherov had a shot down low that Dobes stopped. Then, Tampa had some 2-on-1 chances that didn’t lead to goals.
