Various Canadian architecture firms have announced the promotions of members of their staff and appointments of individuals to new leadership positions.

Acton Ostry Architects (AOA) has announced the appointment of an expanded leadership team for the practice. AOA welcomes Calvin Lau as director of finance, Molly Gray, Matias Grez, and Mehdi Hashemi as associates, and Nebo Slijepcevic as production specialist.

Derek Newby has been appointed to the firm’s Board of Directors. Newby joins the board after more than a decade with the firm. He serves as managing director of the Vancouver and Calgary studios and supports strategic growth and coordination across Canada. His leadership includes the delivery of large-scale projects and expertise in sustainable and climate-responsive design.
