Weapons threat leads to Calgary police shelter in place order in Thorncliffe

Calgary police are telling residents in a northeast neighbourhood to shelter in place on Monday due to a weapons threat.

Officers responded to reports of the threat at around 9 a.m. for the 6000 block of Trollinger Street NE in Thorncliffe.

The shelter-in-place order is in place for several nearby residences.

However, officers believe there is no risk to public safety.

In the meantime, Trollinger Street NE is closed from 56 Avenue to 60 Avenue.
