The Eta Aquariid meteor showers are speeding through the debris of Halley’s Comet and will peak overnight Tuesday-Wednesday.
The shooting stars are best seen from the southern hemisphere, but if the moon (waning gibbous) and cloud cover (it’s likely to rain) cooperate, Montrealers might see a few in the predawn hours. The Eta Aquariids fall till May 28.
There will be showers through most of Tuesday with the risk of a thunderstorm and high wind gusts in the afternoon. The high will reach 19 C with a UV index of 5, or moderate. Overnight, expect more showers and a low of 7 C.
