Quebec’s agriculture ministry and the city of Montreal’s food inspection division are warning that beef sausages sold by a LaSalle butcher shop contained gluten that was not disclosed on the packaging.
The Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation says the sausages were sold by Boucherie La Préférence on Dollard Ave.
The sausages were sold refrigerated in transparent packaging.
It says people with celiac disease, illnesses triggered by consuming gluten, or wheat allergies shouldn’t consume the sausages and should dispose of them or return them to the butcher shop.
The MAPAQ says the source of the gluten is unknown, but may have been wheat.
No allergic reactions linked to the sausages have been reported.
