A highway crash east of Calgary on Wednesday morning has left one person dead.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Highway 1 and Range Road 281, just east of Chestermere, around 8 a.m., for reports of a crash.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Two more people were taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
The highway was shut down for several hours as police investigated. It has since reopened to traffic.
