Tao Geoghegan Hart won the ‘Covid edition’ in 2020; Egan Bernal won it back in 2021; Jai Hindley took the win in 2022; In 2023 it was Primoz Roglic who beat Geraint Thomas in a dramatic final mountain time trial to win his first Giro; In 2024 Tadej Pogacar dominated the edition from start to finish whilst in 2025 it was Great Britain’s Simon Yates who won the pink jersey after a brilliant attack on the final mountain stage which dethroned Isaac del Toro.The total amount of prize money that will be distributed throughout the 21 stages of the 2026 Giro d’Italia is of 1.641.860 euros. This will be given as a basis of the following classifications: Overall; Points; KOM; Youth and Teams. Furthermore, prizes are attributed for the Intermediate sprints, Red Bull Kilometer, longest breakaways and combativity awards.Stage Results

Everyday, the winner of the stage will win over €11.000 in prizes. The first 20 riders to cross the finish line will, in some way, win something. Every single day then, €27.540 will be handed out from this result.

The overall classification is given on the basis of two different awards, one given from the race organization and one coming from special rewards for the riders. The winner of the overall classification will win €265.668 when both are added; and all the riders present in the Top20 will also receive some sort of compensation.
