The doors have been opened at a new advanced manufacturing facility that’s bringing 170 jobs to Brampton.
The new 148,000-square-foot facility is Socomec Canada’s third in Brampton and officially opened on Thursday with a ribbon cutting at 201 Westcreek Blvd.
Socomec manufactures high-efficiency transformers and power distribution units (PDUs) for data centres, hospitals and other high-demand environments, and now employs some 500 workers in Brampton.
The City of Brampton says Socomec’s “cutting edge technology” will help toward “strengthening Brampton’s position as a destination for globally competitive, engineering-driven businesses.”
“By supporting local production of globally in-demand technology, the facility advances Brampton’s role in the energy, infrastructure and advanced manufacturing supply chain,” the city says. “These products also support the city’s climate and energy goals by helping reduce energy waste and improve efficiency in major facilities.”
Socomec was recognized during Brampton’s 2026 State of the City address as one of 10 companies honoured for their “significant expansion, highlighting the company’s role in driving economic growth and job creation in Brampton.”
“Socomec’s growth not only supports job creation but also strengthens our local supply chain and contributes to a more resilient and future-ready economy,” Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown said in a statement.
The company’s other Brampton facilities are located at 8985 Airport Rd. and 5 Parkshore Dr.
