Another top Canadiens prospect follows Michael Hage by delaying Montreal arrival

It’s now confirmed. After Michael Hage, another promising young Montreal Canadiens prospect will not join the organization immediately.
Journalist Marco D’Amico received confirmation from his agency, Gold Star Hockey.
“Confirmation on Alexander Zharovsky headed back to the KHL for another year, at least, from his representation (Gold Star Hockey).
A strong summer ahead for physical growth and development for the skilled forward to hit the ground running next season.”

Zharovsky, selected 34th overall by the Montreal Canadiens at the last draft, had an impressive first season in the KHL with 16 goals and 42 points in 59 games.
That’s exceptional for a player his age in that league.

But the production is slightly misleading.
A player that young almost never gets such a significant role in the KHL, and by the end of the season, you could feel that he ran out of gas.
The playoffs were particularly difficult.
That’s part of his development.
Another year over there won’t hurt him.
The question now: will next season be his last in the KHL?
According to D’Amico, it will depend on what happens over the next 12 months.
General manager Kent Hughes has to be patient with Hage at Michigan and Zharovsky in the KHL. But when those two are ready, the Montreal Canadiens’ pipeline will become even more formidable.
