JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — East Tennessee State University (ETSU) football team’s former quarterback, Jacolby Criswell, has signed on to play at the professional level with the Canadian Football League (CFL), ETSU announced Thursday.
A news release from ETSU said Criswell will join the Calgary Stampeders.

ETSU said Criswell played in a total of eight games for the Bucs last year, making four starts.
In his debut as a Buc, he completed five of eight passes for 34 yards and rushed for 46 more yards in ETSU’s win over Murray State. He tossed three touchdowns in road games and threw for a season-high 271 yards in a win over rival Western Carolina.
Overall, Criswell finished the season 85-for-138 passing (61.59%) for 1,130 yards with nine touchdowns. Even though he missed four games, according to ETSU, Criswell finished fourth on the team with 277 rushing yards, and he averaged 4.9 yards per carry.
