Several roads are closed as emergency crews respond to a multi-vehicle crash northeast of Calgary on Sunday.
It happened at around 11 a.m., according to 511 Alberta, which says emergency crews are on the scene.
Airdrie Rural RCMP says traffic is being diverted around the collision at Highway 9 and Highway 564.
Highway 9 between Township Road 252 and 260, and Highway 564 between Range Road 271 and 273 are closed due to the crash.
Callers to 660 NewsRadio say drivers in the area are being told it could be upwards of an hour before the STARS helicopter arrives, though it’s still not clear whether it’s attending the scene.
The number of injured isn’t clear. AHS have been contacted for comment.
In the meantime, motorists are being asked to find alternate routes and to expect significant delays.
