The SPS major crime section is investigating and will be gathering evidence. The intersection at 72nd Avenue and 152nd Street is expected to be closed through much of the morning.

There are no suspect descriptions and the motive is unknown, but Houghton said extortion is not believed to be a factor.

Anyone who saw the incident or might have dashcam or surveillance footage in the area is asked to call the Surrey Police Service non-emergency line at 604-599-0502.
