A woman sustained critical injuries Monday evening after she was struck by a car in Barrhaven, paramedics say.

Ottawa Paramedic Service said they were called to the area near Fallowfield Road and Woodroffe Avenue around 7:20 p.m. Paramedics said they took a woman to hospital in life-threatening condition.

Police said the westbound lane of Fallowfield Road is closed between Woodroffe Avenue to Via Park Place.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time and there are no further updates, police said.
