Kelowna residents will have a new opportunity to visit the nation’s capital.
The Kelowna International Airport (YLW) is teaming with Porter Airlines to launch a direct flight between Kelowna and Ottawa.
According to the City of Kelowna, this new service will begin on Wednesday, May 13, and will feature five weekly round-trip flights, better connecting residents of the Okanagan Valley to the nation’s capital and eastern Canada.
Porter’s Embraer E195-E2 aircraft will fly the route, taking a maximum of 132 passengers per flight.
“We’re excited to see Porter Airlines grow its air services at YLW. This direct flight between Kelowna and Ottawa improves connectivity and supports new opportunities for tourism and business in the Okanagan,” said Sam Samaddar, CEO of YLW.
The first Porter Airlines flight from Ottawa is set to land in Kelowna on Wednesday at 11:55 a.m.
