Police have charged a Brampton man following a crash between two semi-trucks that left one person injured.
The OPP says the two-vehicle collision happened around 4:40 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Highway 401 in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand, approximately 75 kilometres east of Oshawa.
Police say two tractor-trailers collided and one of the drivers was rushed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The highway was closed for several hours and reopened around 9 p.m.
But police say a second driver from Cobourg was also charged after driving on the closed roadway.
The OPP says a 43‑year‑old male from Brampton has been charged with careless driving and unsafe move – lane or shoulder. A 46-year-old male from Cobourg has been charged with drive on closed highway and driver fail to surrender license.
