Major ARC Raiders updates will only come twice a year going forward.
Since its release, ARC Raiders updates have come at a regular and frequent pace. The team at Embark Studios has determined that this is ultimately serving to undermine some of its goals for the game. On Wednesday, Embark announced a new update known as Frozen Trail, but also notes that it will be coming in October as part of a new twice-a-year update schedule.

The following was posted to the ARC Raiders website:
Going forward, we’ve made the decision to release major updates twice a year – larger in scale, more impactful, with the goal to genuinely change how you play the game. Don’t worry, a dedicated live service team will continue running ARC Raiders day-to-day: regular live updates, plus balance fixes, bug fixes, store updates, and player events aren’t going anywhere.
This additional development space also allows us to invest more deeply in the health of ARC Raiders, from progression and economy balancing to fair play and anti-cheat efforts. We know these are foundational to the experience, especially in a game where every encounter and extraction matters.
Frozen Trail will be the first of these twice-a-year updates and is being billed as ARC Raiders’ biggest update so far. It will feature a new Rust Belt frontier, new enemies, new progression systems, an updated skill tree, and other new additions. It will also further explore the story of ARC Raiders, offering players more insight into how this world came to be.
While the Frozen Trail is coming much later, ARC Raiders players have something they can look forward to in the more immediate future. A new Trader will roam the world, seeking to deal with players who are at level 25 or better. He can help those who need extra storage space or anyone who’s simply looking for rare loot.
Look for the ARC Raiders Frozen Trail update to release sometime in October. In the meantime, take this period as an opportunity to catch up. Those who need a little help are encouraged to browse through the ARC Raiders topic page and find some guides that might be of assistance.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can’t enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
