Edmonton Fire Rescue Services says a house fire in the Cumberland neighbourhood on Wednesday evening was reportedly caused by an electrical or mechanical malfunction.
EFRS responded to a residential structure fire near Cote Crescent just before 7:30 p.m. on May 13.
When crews arrived, they could see heavy smoke coming from an attached garage of the home.
The fire was under control around 8:04 p.m., before being declared out at 9:28 p.m.
Through the initial stages of an investigation, it is believed that the fire was caused by an electrical or mechanical malfunction of something involving a remote control battery or charger. EFRS also stated that it was not an electric vehicle.
