TERRACE BAY – A Winnipeg trucker is facing stunt-driving charges after being caught driving 100 kilometres an hour in a 60-kilometre zone.
Ontario Provincial Police, in an email issued to media early Thursday morning, said an officer using a radar speed-measuring device, clocked the commercial motor vehicle driver going 40 over the speed limit at about 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old driver was charged with driving a motor vehicle perform stunt, excessive speed, careless driving and failure to stop on the right for an emergency vehicle. Their licence was automatically suspended for 30 days, their vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
The driver is expected to appear in court at a later date.
