BUT THESE NEXT TWO WEEKS BE JUST AS BUSY. I FEEL LIKE BECAUSE I’M ON THIS LIKE WORLD TOUR, IT FEELS LIKE NEXT WEEK WE GOT TO GO TO INDIANA TO. DO, YOU KNOW, THE MOVIE PREMIERE STUFF. SO IT’S STILL A CRAZY COUPLE OF WEEKS. WHAT CAN YOU TEASE FANS ABOUT THE THE MOVIE? SO KYLE LARSON VERSUS THE DOUBLE SPOILER, THE DOUBLE WINS. NOT ME. BUT IT’S A REALLY GOOD FILM. I WAS I WAS KIND OF NERVOUS, LIKE HOW IT WOULD TURN OUT BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, IT DIDN’T IT DIDN’T GO AS WELL OR LIKE AS PERFECTLY PLANNED AS WE HAD ALL HOPED, YOU KNOW, WITH THE WEATHER AND ME CRASHING IN BOTH RACES LAST YEAR. SO I WAS JUST LIKE, MAN, I DON’T KNOW HOW THEY’RE GOING TO PULL THIS OFF AND MAKE IT GOOD. BUT AFTER WATCHING THROUGH IT, I THINK IT MADE THE, YOU KNOW, THE FILM MUCH MORE ENTERTAINING BECAUSE IT KIND OF HAD ALL THE ELEMENTS OF, YOU KNOW, DRAMA AND EMOTION AND ALL OF THAT. AND THEN CAPPING OFF, YOU KNOW, WITH THE CHAMPIONSHIP. SO IT WAS REALLY GOOD. AND I THINK EVERYBODY’S GOING TO REALLY ENJOY IT. BEING ABLE TO TAKE THAT DISAPPOINTMENT, THE STING OF NOT BEING ABLE TO COMPLETE IT AND USE IT TO FUEL YOUR WAY TO A CUP CHAMPIONSHIP. I MEAN, THAT THAT’S AN INCREDIBLE ENDING TO A KIND OF A SEASON THAT HAD SO MUCH GOING ON. YEAH, DEFINITELY. LIKE STORY BOOK, YOU KNOW, ENDING FOR SURE. KIND OF QUICKLY, JUST FORGET ABOUT IT AND JUST GET RIGHT BACK TO BUSINESS AND RIGHT BACK TO YOUR PROCESS OF, OF WHAT YOU NEED TO DO OR WHAT HAS BEEN ROUTINE FOR YOU AND YOUR TEAM. WE HAVEN’T WON SINCE THEN. SO IT’S BEEN A BIT, YOU KNOW, BELOW AVERAGE FOR OUR STANDARDS SITTING EIGHTH IN THE STANDINGS. BUT YOU KNOW, LIKE YOU SAID, YOU HAVEN’T WON YET. WHAT MAYBE NEEDS TO NEEDS TO LIKE FIND WHAT YOU NEED TO FINE TUNE FINE TUNING IS THE RIGHT WORD BECAUSE JUST KIND OF LEARNING THE NUANCES OF, OF THE CAR AND WHAT IT NEEDS. Kyle Larson, the Elk Grove native and reigning NASCAR Cup champion, made several stops in town during a media tour to promote his new documentary on Thursday. “Kyle Larson vs. The Double” recaps his two-year effort to race the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day. Few drivers have attempted the challenge. “Spoiler, ‘The Double’ wins, not me,” he said of the documentary. “It’s a really good film. I was nervous how it would turn out because it didn’t go as well or as perfectly planned as we had all hoped with the weather and me crashing in both races last year.” “I was just like, ‘Man, I don’t know how they are going to pull this off and make it good.’ But after watching through it, I think it made the film much more entertaining because it had all the elements of drama and emotion and all that,” he said. “And the capping off with a championship.” He said winning the NASCAR Cup championship was a “storybook ending” to the season.”You kind of quickly just forget about it and just get right back to business and right back to your process of what you need to do or what has been routine for you and your team,” he said. “We haven’t won since then so it’s been a bit below average for our standards.” Larson also visited Sutter Health Park on Thursday afternoon, where he threw out the first pitch at the A’s game.”That might have been the first strike that I’ve thrown, so that’s good,” he said. ELK GROVE, Calif. —
Kyle Larson, the Elk Grove native and reigning NASCAR Cup champion, made several stops in town during a media tour to promote his new documentary on Thursday.
“Kyle Larson vs. The Double” recaps his two-year effort to race the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day. Few drivers have attempted the challenge.
