Taylor Swift is kicking off her next era with a bit of self-deprecating humor.

The 14-time Grammy winner is set to appear Wednesday on Wondery’s “New Heights” podcast, which is co-hosted by her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

In a teaser for the interview, she makes a pointed joke about the fervent emotions she’s been known to stir among NFL fans.

“Thanks for having me on my favorite podcast,” Swift tells Kelce and his brother, retired NFL player Jason Kelce, in the clip, before noting the siblings “have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast.”

“And I think we all know,” she adds, “that if there’s one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens, it’s more of me.”

Swift’s quip about “male sports fans” is a wink to the reaction she’s garnered from some football fans since she began attending Chiefs games to support her now-boyfriend. The two went public with their relationship in the fall of 2023.

Some of the reactions to Swift’s presence at Chiefs games have leaned negative, with some fans and outlets questioning whether she’s become “a distraction” to the players.

When Swift appeared on the Jumbotron at the Super Bowl in February, she was met with a chorus of boos from some attendees and seemed briefly shaken by the situation. Among those who later defended the pop superstar were tennis ace Serena Williams and Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley.

Swift’s much-buzzed-about “New Heights” interview coincides with the announcement of her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” Based on previous teasers, she’s likely to share more specifics about the album, including its release date and whether it will include a rumored collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter, in her chat with the Kelce brothers.
