A teenage boy has died after he was struck by a plane that crashed on Lake Scugog on Friday afternoon.
Durham Regional Police Service say the 16-year-old was struck on a dock at the time the small plane crashed.
Two adults who were on the plane survived the crash, which took place near Caesarea at around 12:25 p.m.
“The pilot of the aircraft was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, and the passenger of the plane also had minor injuries,” police confirmed.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is on the scene and conducting an investigation into the crash.
Photos from the scene show the mangled plane upside down, resting on a boat that’s tied to a dock.
It’s not yet clear why the plane crashed.
